Cookies and similar technologies can store or access information on your device. This site uses essential functions for shopping and account sessions. Optional Google services are controlled by your choices.
You can accept all optional services, reject them all, or choose individual categories. All optional choices start off. Your choice is stored in our gb_cookie_consent cookie for 180 days. You can change it using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Our existing Google Tag Manager setup combines analytics and advertising. It is loaded only if you accept both categories. Accepting only one does not load either service. Google Maps and Google form security have independent choices.
Withdrawing permission for a service that has already loaded reloads the current page to stop it. Please finish or save form entries before changing saved choices. We clear known first-party analytics and advertising cookies when tracking is refused. We cannot delete cookies belonging to Google's domains; your browser settings can remove these.
| Category | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Essential | Basket, account sessions and remembering your cookie choices. These functions remain available when optional cookies are rejected. |
| Analytics | Google Analytics measures visits and use of the website. Associated cookie names can include _ga, _ga_*, _gid and _gat*. |
| Advertising | Google Ads measures advertising results and may support personalised advertising. Associated first-party names can include _gcl_*. Google may also use cookies on its own domains. |
| Google Maps | The embedded map connects to Google after permission. The written address is available without the map. |
| Google form security | reCAPTCHA checks that enquiries come from people rather than automated spam. It loads only on pages containing its form widget and after this category is accepted. If you decline, you can contact us by email or telephone. |
The following names were observed on our site on 21 October 2026, except for the consent cookie introduced with this banner. Expiry can be renewed when an allowed service is used. Browser limits may shorten storage periods.
| Name | Purpose | Storage period |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID | Essential: maintains the website session used by shopping and account functions. | Session cookie; the browser manages its removal when the session ends, subject to session restoration settings. |
gb_cookie_consent | Essential: remembers your consent choices. | 180 days. |
_ga, _ga_6824TS0RE0, _ga_E6B49QS373 | Analytics: visitor identification and session measurement. | Google documents a default of 2 years. In the Chromium review, expiry was 25 November 2027, approximately 400 days after the review, consistent with Chromium's expiry limit. |
_gid | Analytics: distinguishes visitors over a short period. | Typically 24 hours. The reviewed cookie expired on 22 October 2026. |
_gat | Analytics: limits the rate of measurement requests. | Typically 1 minute; a short-lived cookie was present in the review. |
_gcl_au | Advertising: supports measurement of advertising effectiveness. | Google documents 90 days for this cookie family. The reviewed cookie expired on 7 January 2027; it had already been stored before the review. |
Google's Analytics cookie documentation explains its defaults. Actual expiry can depend on service settings and your browser; Chromium caps newly set cookie expiry at 400 days.
When enabled, these services send information to Google, which may include your IP address, device information, page interactions and cookie identifiers. See Google's privacy policy and Google's cookie information for details of its use of information.
Google services may also access cookies on google.com, google.co.uk or doubleclick.net, depending on your Google sign-in state and browser choices. Examples include NID for preferences and some advertising uses (6 months), IDE for advertising (13 months in the UK/EEA), and AEC for protection against fraud and abuse (6 months). Other Google account cookies may already exist from your visits to Google. Their presence does not mean this website created them. Google's linked cookie information describes its cookies and retention periods.
